Spec Ops Mission DLC Confirmed For Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Not content at giving players the USS side of the Operation Raccoon City story, Capcom announced today that they will be making an all-new mission available to both PS3/360 owners as a free download on April 10. This new Spec Ops mission has players taking control of a member of the special forces team tasked to investigate the source of the deadly outbreak.

What makes this piece of DLC so interesting is that it lets players play as spec ops members as they fight the deadly USS agents (the protagonists of the main RE:ORC campaign). Again, Operation Raccoon City’s “Three Corner Conflict” applies here; Spec Ops members will have to defend themselves not only against USS agents, but zombies, B.O.W’s, and perhaps even a surprise boss or two.

The best part of DLC mission? The mission takes place exactly at the same time when Jill Valentine runs into the Nemesis for the first time. Expect some brutal firefights with the unstoppable monster before the mission is over.

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City will be available in North America on March 20 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version will be available on May 18. The Spec Ops Mission will be available free to download on April 10, 2012.
