Final Fantasy And Prada Collaborate For Spring Fashion
Earlier today, Square Enix announced that they will be partnering up with Prada to promote the fashion company’s 2012 Spring/Summer men’s collection as well as the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Final Fantasy franchise.
As a first step in this unique collaboration, Final Fantasy XIII-2 characters Lightning, Noel, Snow, Sazh, and Hope will be featured wearing Prada outfits in the newest issue of Arena Homme+, a popular fashion magazine for men.
Learn more about this surprising collaboration effort between Square Enix and Prada after the break.
Max Pearmain, Editor of Arena Homme+ had this to say about the Square Enix/Prada/Arena Homme+ collaboration:
“Our Spring issue focuses on a world of direction and escapism, and having a visually stunning videogame franchise such as FINAL FANTASY work alongside us and a leading fashion brand like Prada to create something so unique is incredible, I’ve always been interested by the power of videogames and their place in society, and the amount of work that’s gone into this project blows my mind. We’re incredibly pleased with the result.”
The really interesting part about this article is that the CGI used for the 12-page feature was done by Square Enix’s Visual Works studio with help from Final Fantasy character designers. The feature focuses on Prada’s key fashion looks for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
“The FINAL FANTASY series is known for its creativity and innovation; so working with Prada, a renowned fashion house with such beautiful clothingwas a very exciting opportunity. The images we have been able to create together are vibrant and unique,” said Yoshinori Kitase, producer of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2.
