Assassin’s Creed 3 Gameplay Rebuilt From Scratch
In a recent interview with NowGamer, Ubisoft Montreal’s creative director Alexander Hutchinson let out some massive changes to the gameplay formula for Assassin’s Creed 3. It seems that the game’s combat system is now completely redone, a brand-new camera system is in place, there’s different weapon types available for use, and – what’s sure to be a much debated change – a new regenerating health system.
Find out more about the gameplay and feature additions/changes to Assassin’s Creed 3 after the break.
Connor Kenway, the new protagonist, will employ new animations, a two-handed fighting style using a variety of tools and weaponry and a new reliance on either dispatching his enemies or running away from the fight in order for his health to heal.
“The core for us is a redesign of the health system, so that instead of having health units and needing to heal after combat, you now have a regenerating health system which means you can’t regain health during combat – you need to escape and rest. This exponentially increases the challenge.”
Hutchinson did also say that Assassin’s Creed 3′s new setting will be much bigger than Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and that a number of old features (like the bomb crafting and economy building/rebuilding meta-game) have been axed from AC3.
