The open-world drama will feature Will Yun Lee (Die Another Day, Total Recall) as Wei Shen, the game’s protagonist. Veteran British actor Tom Wilkinson (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Valkyrie) is set to play Inspector Pendrew, one of Shen’s friends during his time as an undercover officer within the Triads. Asian fans will be happy to know that Edison Chen (Initial D, Infernal Affairs, The Grudge 2) will be playing Jackie Mah, shen’s childhood friend.
Even the supporting cast features recognizable names in Hollywood and Asia. Rising star Emma Stone (Easy A, The Amazing Spider-Man, Zombieland), joins the cast along with Lucy Liu (Kill Bill, Charlie’s Angels), Yunjin Kim (LOST), Kelly Hu (The Tournament, X2: X-Men United), Robin Shou (Mortal Kombat, Beverly Hills Ninja, Death Race) and many more.
“Sleeping Dogs features over two hours of rich dialogue in a story inspired by some of Hong Kong’s finest films,” said Stephen van der Mescht, executive producer at United Front Games. “As huge fans of the genre we knew exactly who we wanted; we knew who could bring the script to life. The end result is fantastic.”
Sleeping Dogs is a dramatic open-world action game set in Hong Kong city. Players take control of undercover cop Wei Shen, as he attempts to take down one of the city’s most fearsome criminal gangs from the inside, the Sun On Yee Triad.
As this is a game about a determined cop going undercover, Wei Shen must face his own morality and code of honor. He gets ordered to do crimes that makes him cross the line between lawman and criminal. A gritty story full of plot twists, betrayals, and Wei Shen’s loyalty to his badge takes center stage here.
Sleeping Dogs will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on August 14, 2012.
