Free Gaming – Abobo’s Big Adventure

I don’t know where this sudden resurgence of 8-Bit love came from, but I sure as hell appreciate it. Perhaps one of the best tribute/crossover/parody flash games of 2012, Abobo’s Big Adventure certainly reminds people why the NES (and its games) defined a generation.

Independent developer Roger Barr started working on Abobo’s Big Adventure back in 2006; he and the other two developers on the team had a goal to pit the iconic Double Dragon bad guy against other iconic stages, gameplay mechanics, characters, and music from the 8-bit era  and make it fun and playable. Color me surprised when I played it; Abobo was challenging, funny and damn fun, a perfect example of a full-on flash game done right.
