Resident Evil Revelations Will Feature More Characters, Modes, and Enemies
As if the game wasn’t feature-packed enough, Capcom announced earlier this week that Resident Evil Revelations will feature more characters, modes, and enemies than originally thought. As well, there will be new unique features exclusive to the Wii-U version when it releases in May.
First of the new additions is a newcomer to the Resident Evil franchise; Rachel is going to be a playable character in Raid Mode along with Hunk. Those of you lucky buggers who are heading off to PAX EAST (I’m looking at you Twinfinite Crew!) will be able to try out both Hunk and Rachel at Capcom’s booth at the event. Capcom Finally Confirms Resident Evil Revelations For PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U
Earlier today, Capcom finally confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations is indeed coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. Once a Nintendo 3DS-exclusive title, RE Revelations will be available through retail and through digital download.
Taking place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations casts players as either Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield (along with each of their partners) as they try to solve solve the mystery within the abandoned Crusie Ship Queen Zeonbia. Resident Evil Revelations achieved critical acclaim for its return to the roots of the franchise; namely a focus on building tension and horror throughout the adventure.

Resident Evil: Retribution Producer Planning Monster Hunter Film
In a recent interview with a Japanese website, Resident Evil: Retribution Producer Paul W.S. Anderson revealed that a Monster Hunter film is indeed in planning stages. Given Anderson’s hit-or-miss video game adaptations, this could be a blessing or a curse for Monster Hunter fans worldwide. When asked about what other game franchises he would like to translate to film, Anderson replied:
“Recently, I’ve been loving Monster Hunter! A film conversion is currently in planning.”
Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise isn’t known for having in-depth narratives; instead it’s popular for having addictive hunt-and-slay gameplay and a die-hard community. I mean the franchise by itself sold millions of PSP’s in Japan alone, saving the handheld from being totally dominated by the Nintendo DS. There have been no other mentions of the film project other than his comment. We’ll keep you guys updated once we find out more.
What would you like to see from a Monster Hunter film adaptation?

We recently got our hands on Resident Evil 6‘s full feature list and oh boy does it make the game worth the wait!
Set 10 years after the events that destroyed Raccoon City, Resident Evil 6 will star a number of playable protagonists led by series stalwarts Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield. Joining them will be Jake Muller, the son of the infamous Albert Wesker. As in Resident Evil 5, each of the main characters will be joined by their own partners: US government agent Helena Harper, BSAA member Piers Nivans and returning Sherry Birkin (who was last seen with Leon and Claire in Resident Evil 2).
Each of the characters’ interwoven stories (playable in solo, co-op on and offline) will introduce the Crossover mechanic in which up to four players can join together online to tackle objectives. Imagine the teamwork gameplay mechanics of RE: Operation Raccoon City, and you get the idea.

Resident Evil 6: An Open Letter to Capcom
Dear Capcom,
I just wanted to write to let you know that the announcement trailer you released today for Resident Evil 6…
… rules. However, I’m finding myself surprisingly unexcited about the prospect of a new Resident Evil game.
But Joe! Aren’t you the guy who still vividly remembers seeing that first zombie in the original Resident Evil and to this day counts it as one of the greatest moments in all of gaming? And aren’t you the guy who considers Resident Evil 4 second only to Silent Hill 2 as the greatest achievement in the survival horror genre? I am, in fact, that guy.
